Will my real email be revealed if I reply to a forwarded email?
No, all email replies are processed on our sever and your burner address is used as the sender.
How does the universal email address work?
Once you set up a unique username in our system, you can simply use any email that follows the pattern:
[your username] + "." + [any_text] + "@cobu.email"
So if your username was "john", then when some merchant or store, like say Red Robin, asks for your email, you can just tell them: "[email protected]" and that email will automatically forward to your real account.
What personal information does ContactBurner have access to, how is it protected and how is my privacy respected?
Any emails that are temporarily stored on our servers, like for Email Roundups, are securely encrypted. If you have the order tracking feature enabled, our automated systems quickly scans incoming emails to determine if it looks like an order receipt or has a shipping tracking number. Forwarded emails are not stored at all on our servers.
